#BoundlessCouple: Adam and Charmay

Jan 26, 2018

Adam and Charmay in Vietnam for the holidays
Boundless couple, Charmay and Adam, shared their immigration journey with the Boundless Team.

Congratulations on submitting your green card application to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS)! How did that feel?

I thought the process was great! Everything was very easy from the beginning to the end. What you’re doing is overdue: making a service like this available to everyone without having to pay thousands of dollars for an attorney.

Please take us back to the beginning. How did you decide on Boundless over a traditional attorney?

I’ve used many attorneys for other tasks, but never for anything immigration-related. They referred me to a few immigration law firms, and I felt the fees were absurd across the board: $2,800, $5,000, $5,600. I asked them, what do you provide for that fee? Do you do something proactively; are you involved first-hand? Across the board it was, “No, we collect all the data, fill out the packet, and submit it for you. But we don’t guarantee anything about the process; it’s out of our hands.” For that service, their fees seemed exorbitant.

So I looked online to see if there were any modern visa companies in the internet age. My assumption is that there has to be a tech company where I could get the same or better service at a reasonable price. They don’t have to guarantee me a green card because I know it’s ultimately in the government’s hands, but could I get a satisfaction guarantee in the meantime?

“On a scale of 1 to 10, I’d give you guys a 20!”

So after you thought to yourself, “there has to be a better way,” you found us through an online search?

Boundless was one of the first results when I searched. I went through a number of websites and you looked like a legitimate operation. Your site was professional and the more I started to read about you, the more I felt comfortable moving forward with Boundless. I was really attracted to your self-service nature. I could do most of the work myself, complete all of the questions in an hour, save money, and still get a quality, professional assistance—including an attorney who takes a close look at everything.

Tell us more about your experience working directly with the Boundless Team.

I used your chat tool a lot for initial questions, which was very helpful. Minor things—details around how financial support works, which forms do I need to fill out, what documents should I upload, when will the interview take place, will I be able to attend the interview, and where does my wife complete her medical exam? Each time, I would just hit the chat button and get answers in real time. The whole process was easy to understand and follow. Uploading documents and answering questions online worked perfectly, your fees were very reasonable, and the timeframe was perfect. On a scale of 1 to 10, I’d give you guys a 20.

What was it like working with your independent immigration attorney?

She was very nice, personal, congenial. Unlike other lawyer conversations, it was not sterile at all. She listened and patiently answered all of my questions very clearly. Made sure to cross all the t’s and dot all the i’s. She truly went above and beyond with making me feel confident about my application.

“My grandchildren will thank you.”

What did you think about the complete green card application package you received in the mail from Boundless?

The way the package came was perfect. I assumed it would be a bunch of papers stapled together, but it was far more organized than that. I was pleasantly surprised that everything was marked, tagged, and organized, which was great! It was very easy to find where to sign on the forms and how to include all of the necessary final parts, like passport photos. You guys have thought of everything: labels, postage, tracking. There was nothing ambiguous about it; it was very easy to understand. You have a great product on your hands.

How did the interview go?

Everything went great! Charmay was only in the interview about 20 to 30 minutes. They asked about 4 questions and approved the visa.

We can’t thank you enough for all your help. When we go on our tour of the U.S., we will stop by and see everyone so we can thank you in person. Looking forward to seeing you guys and passing out some hugs!

Any other thoughts? Would you do anything differently?

I honestly don’t see anything you could improve. Simple, easy, cost-effective; you guys do great follow-up. And trust me, I would tell you if I thought there was something I didn’t like, or was cumbersome or complicated! My wife is extremely happy. You guys have made her year! My grandchildren will thank you.
